It’s been a year since that jaw-dropping early morning at the beach in South Alabama that God met me right in the rawest part of my lament and shifted my language completely. Because, yes, this is hard. But, with Jesus carrying it? It becomes holy.
It’s an exercise I constantly need to remind myself of, a practice I have to repeat often. Through it, I’m not negating the hardship of it all (because it all really IS hard). But shifting the language reminds me to shift the weight off of me and onto Him, even if it’s five minutes at a time.
Yes, this is impossibly hard. But it’s also holy.

Six years ago, a dear girlfriend from college messaged me here - she had picked up Mercy Like Morning to read again. The first time she tried to read it, she wasn’t ready and only made it halfway through. But this time, she felt God calling her back to His Word.

It’s so amazing to look back and not only see how far I’ve come, but to see the details of the beginning of things that I didn’t know were even being written into my story.
