“Every single one of us has a particular calling on our life, some of them much more nuanced than others. But in each of them, God will give us the grace to do it.”

Worthy is the first release of the Dig Your Well series of study commentaries that frame your days with Jesus by starting with the Bible first (always), and ending by pointing you back to it to see for yourself what it has to say (and not just take my words for it).

Each book is introduced with a built-in background check, prompting the reader to get the full picture of what she is about to dig into before she actually gets to the digging. And each passage begins with a few Scripture-digging tips to get her going in the right direction.

Once you have sufficiently dug in on your own, I provide a two-part expository teaching to help support your study: The Technicalities (a closer look at the linguistics, context, or historical implications of a passage from a combination of trusted biblical sources) and Making It Personal (a modern-day, worshipful explanation of what the passage means that allows you to paint yourrself into the picture I've loosely begun to draw for you).

Through every passage, I embrace the distinctly feminine (never feminist) lens through which I relate to God and His Word, filling a notable gap in the world of traditionally male-authored biblical commentaries. In other words, Worthy is the first study of its kind that includes cohesive biblical commentary written by a woman.

And friend, believe me when I say: I'm just getting started.

I know, you have this wild hunger to know God's Word but maybe aren't sure how to learn it without an in-depth Bible study to guide you, tell you where to begin (or even what to read). You might also know there is so much more within the text of your Bible, but you don't know how to find it. That’s all about to change.

In this study-commentary on Paul’s prison letters, you’ll

  • start your quiet time with the Bible (not someone else’s experience).
  • get going in the right direction with Jane’s specific Scripture-digging tips for every passage.
  • explore linguistics and historical context without being intimidated or overwhelmed.
  • make your study personal with a worshipful examination of the passage’s meaning.
  • give God glory, honor, and praise, as the lightbulb of comprehension begins to illuminate.

With Jane's teaching, you’ll be fully equipped to search out the nuances of God's Word for yourself without depending upon someone else to feed it to you. It’s time to exchange dread, confusion, and obligation in your mornings with Jesus for excitement, clarity, and anticipation.

from the book

I understand now, at least a glimpse of, that Revelation 4:11 feeling— crowns cast, words cast, all the things God Himself gave to you, thrown back onto Him in worship.

Jesus is worthy to receive it all, and Paul, from prison, penned a series of letters that detailed how to give it to Him. He taught the Ephesians how to walk worthy of their calling (Ephesians 4:1), the Philippians to walk worthy of the gospel (Philippians 1:27), and the Colossians to walk worthy of the Lord (Colossians 1:10). As for Philemon? Paul put his money where his mouth was and gave proof that he walked worthy of all three.

let the party begin

Because this isn’t just the launch of a new book (it’s the hard launch of an entire ministry), we will be partying like it’s 1999 right up until the day that Worthy is launched (and, let’s be honest, for weeks after).

We have some really great party favors in store for you—they will be announced in the coming months. Until then, take a screenshot of your preorder and submit it using the form below. That will serve as your ID for the bouncer at our private launch party. And, I promise, it’s gonna be good.
